Fossil Announce Q54 Pilot Analogue Smartwatch

Posted by Adam on 14th Jan 2016

Adding to the line-up of Fossil Q wearables is the new Fossil Q54 Pilot, announced recently at CES 2016.

Using the same case and design of the original Pilot watch, with the integrated chronograph sub-dials, this is a gorgeous looking watch.

With a similar appearance to the Fossil Q Grant, this is a slightly less formal looking piece, perfect for everyday wear. Where the Q Grant has the roman numeral markers around the edge, the Q54 Pilot has a creamier dial and Arabic number markers for a slightly stronger looking finish.

Powered by an Intel Innovation chip giving 5 to 7 days of charge, this watch far outlasts the "screened" watches that squeeze a day or two at best. Notifications are handled by 2 LEDs hidden in the 5 and 7 o'clock positions and a vibrating notifier, easy to set up, select your favourite contacts, and the watch will buzz and light up to let you know someone's trying to get hold of you.

The activity tracking is handled by the Fossil Q app available for iOS 8.1 and up, Android 4.4 and up. Easy to set up, and a clean looking app, the information is grouped for easy viewing. The watch collects the info about steps taken and average calories burnt, and aggregates it all in the app.

Fitting in with most of the rest of what Fossil has to offer, the Q54 Pilot is a suave looking watch with hidden talents. From the quick release 22mm straps, to the classically styles case and dial, you'd never be able to tell this is a smart watch at heart.

Joining the ranks of other analogue smart watches such as the Mondaine Helvetica 1 or the Withings Acitivté & Activité Pop, the Q54 is a worthy addition to the stable of analogue smart watches.
