Swatch is a Swiss watch brand created by The Swatch Group founder Nicolas Hayek. The signature Swatch style was birthed during the 70/80s during the quartz crisis – Japanese digital watches began to surpass the traditional European-made mechanical watches.

Swatch aimed to bring-back casual, fun and bright designed watches, this was a side of the market that was lost during quartz crisis.

By re-popularising analogue watches, even though at the time Japanese digital watches were highly popular. Swatch managed to find their niche, grow their audience and now look, they are one of the biggest names in the watch industry.

The Swatch brand is versatile when it comes to different style; there are different collections which serve diverse purposes: 

Swatch Original – Affordable and colourful plastic-cased watches.

Swatch Irony – Classic quartz and automatic metal-cased watches.

Swatch Skin – Split into two different sub-categories, Original Skin are slimmer versions of the Swatch Original watches and Skin Chronograph feature a chronograph function.

The creativity of the brand is honestly outstanding. With over 150 watches in our range, Swatch is fantastic at continuously creating new, fun and colourful watches, while also giving traditional watch fans classic models.

Designs vary from classic leather strap and stainless-steel models, bright silicone models, simplistic and chic models. Watches are fitted with a battery which is carefully covered and securely screwed by a plastic cover. Most watches in the range are quartz  and some feature a day and date window (excluding Swatch Irony Automatic).

Personally, I'll say Swatch is propably the most versatile brand out there! If you're looking for unique, classic, fun watches, Swatch is defintitely for you. The collection is so varied; if you want a fun watch there's the Swatch Mediterranean watch, or if you want something smart the Swatch Irony Boxengasse is there.
