A Limited Edition of 1300 pieces world wide which comes with an additional navy nylon strap.
The overall design of this watch is inspired by the Seiko 1968 Diver’s 300m watch – which was powered by the highest of world standards hi-beat calibre and was worn for the first ever Japanese Mount Everest expedition.
Prospex is a combination of the words 'Professional' and 'Specifications.' These timepieces are designed to be practical, reliable and durable within extreme or everyday environments, for experts, sports lovers and adventure seekers alike.
The design features the beauty of a highly reflective Zaratsu-polished case made from Seiko’s exclusive "Ever-Brilliant Steel" – with its brilliant white hue, this grade of steel is more corrosion resistant than that which is used in most high-end watches today.
Since launching Japan’s first diver’s watch in 1965, Seiko’s innovative watchmaking has changed global dive watch standards.

Specifications:

In this modern version, several technical specifications have been upgraded and updated. The watch features the high-grade 8L35 mechanical calibre which was specially designed for diver’s watches. Consisting of 192 parts created with precise machining techniques, this timepiece is hand assembled and adjusted by watchmakers at the Shizukuishi Watch Studio in Morioka in the north of Japan.
This practical diver's watch has a premium sapphire crystal glass.
The uni-directional rotating bezel: The precise and safe operation of the uni-directional bezel prevents accidental rotation. This is to prevent the watch from displaying the elapsed time shorter than it actually is.
Overcharge prevention function.

Dial Design:

The patterned dial captures the feeling of the Antarctic landscape while the subtle gradation of the blue from light to dark echoes the hauntingly beautiful colours of the polar ice.
The bezel's numerals and markings capture exactly the frozen scenery of blue-ice.
Antarctic landscape is currently challenged by the impact of global warming. The mesmerising dial showcases the wish that the beautiful Antarctic landscape lasts forever.

Case & Bezel:

While the design reflects its heritage, every aspect of this new creation exemplifies the high levels of diver's watch technology for which the Prospex collection is renowned.
The case, bezel and crown are all made of Seiko's Ever-Brilliant Steel, a grade of stainless steel which is more corrosion resistant than that which is commonly used in watches today.
To further ensure the watch's durability, the crown is not screwed directly into the case but locked into a separate component that is built into the case and so can be more easily replaced.
The words “Limited Edition” and the individual serial number are inscribed on the screw case back.

Fabric Strap:

The watch is also offered with an additional fabric strap which incorporates a traditional braiding technique from Japan called Seichu.
This Seichu strap's strength and resistance to the degradation caused by exposure to sunlight meets the most demanding standards of Seiko Prospex diver's watches.
