Once again, WATCHO brought the magic of watchmaking to life with our Japanese Night! Following the success of our Alpine and American Nights, this event showcased the incredible craftsmanship of Seiko, Orient, and Orient Star.
From 10 AM to 7 PM, our store was buzzing with excitement. Guests were greeted with refreshing drinks and adorable Japanese-themed cupcakes, setting the mood for a day of exploration and fun.
We transformed our store into a little piece of Japan, with beautiful Sakura flowers and lanterns creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. Adding to the charm, a designer partner displayed Japanese-inspired clothing, perfectly complementing our theme.
As one of only two UK retailers for Orient and Orient Star watches - and the only one in Southern England and London - we were thrilled to see so much interest in these brands. Watch enthusiasts loved getting hands-on with these rare timepieces!
The Japanese experience didn't stop at watches. Our lovely hostesses, dressed in traditional kimonos, served Japanese-inspired food and drinks. Guests enjoyed sushi and cherry blossom-flavored beverages while Japanese music played softly in the background. The store was constantly busy, showing just how much everyone was enjoying themselves!
Seiko watches were also stars of the show. The Pogue, Shogun, and the limited edition 1968 Seiko 5 reissue drew lots of attention. Even though the Pogue won't be released until August, people were excited to learn about it. We were lucky to have “Mathew Martin”, the brand manager, on hand to share his expertise.
One of the day's highlights was our Watch Lottery, sponsored by Seiko, Hamilton, Bulova, and Herbelin. While customers loved our event day vouchers, the lottery really stole the show. Towards the end of the day, a big crowd gathered to watch the draw, hoping to win amazing watches and luxury hampers.
Reflecting on the success of the event, Pradip Sarda, Director of WATCHO, shared his thoughts: "Japanese Night was an incredible celebration of the artistry and precision that define Japanese watchmaking. Our customers were delighted by the unique cultural infusion and the opportunity to engage with exclusive previews of these exquisite timepieces. It was a joy to connect with so many passionate watch enthusiasts and hear firsthand what draws them to particular watches and brands. The enthusiasm in the room was palpable, from the excitement of trying on remarkable timepieces to the thrill of participating in our watch lottery. This event truly underscored our commitment to providing unparalleled watch experiences. When our passion for watches aligns with that of our customers, it creates a magical atmosphere that makes the day unforgettable for everyone involved."
What made the event truly special was the sense of community. People came in, learned about watches, and shared their excitement with fellow enthusiasts. It was wonderful to see!
Japanese Night at WATCHO Richmond wasn't just an event - it was a celebration of watches, culture, and community. We can't wait to host more events like this and continue sharing our love for fantastic timepieces with you all.
