Garmin's watch catalog

Garmin's watch catalog is vast, offering models ranging from simple health and fitness trackers to high-end, full titanium tool watches specifically designed for particular sports or endeavors. If you're seeking a specialist watch, there's a good chance Garmin has one in its extensive lineup, catering to activities from aviation and diving to golf and everything in between.

Garmin Fenix 7X Pro Sapphire Solar Watch

For an all-around GPS watch that excels in versatility, Garmin sent us the Garmin fēnix 7 Pro – Sapphire Solar Edition. To provide context, this watch is ideal for individuals with active lifestyles. Whether you're mountain biking two to three times a week, trail running, or engaging in strength training, the Garmin Fenix 7 can easily track your pace, elapsed time, distance, elevation, and even assist with navigation.

Garmin offers the Fenix 7 Pro in a variety of models—Standard, Solar, Sapphire Solar, Pro Solar, or Pro Sapphire Solar—and in different sizes to suit individual preferences. The key to this watch's performance lies in its advanced hardware and software. Our review model boasts solar charging capabilities, a titanium and fiber-reinforced polymer case, and a sapphire crystal touchscreen, all contributing to a lightweight and comfortable wear.

In recent years, GPS watches have seen significant advancements in battery technology. The Fenix 7 Pro, with its solar charging feature, can run for up to 22 days without needing a recharge. However, this duration may decrease substantially when using all satellite systems and playing music. Most users report charging the watch every week or two, which is reasonable given the extensive use of GPS functions.

Speaking of GPS, Garmin equips the Fenix 7 Pro with multi-band GPS that locks onto satellites almost instantaneously. Furthermore, it provides accurate heart rate monitoring and VO2 max readings, proving invaluable for runs and bike rides.

Garmin Epix Pro Gen 2 Sapphire Titanium Watch

For those seeking a smartwatch specifically designed for fitness, I highly recommend the Garmin Epix collection. This series combines a vivid AMOLED touchscreen with Garmin's most sophisticated software and hardware experience. From this collection, I chose the Pro Gen 2 Sapphire for review.

Available in both Sapphire and Gorilla Glass crystal variants, this particular version boasts a major new hardware innovation: a powerful LED-based flashlight. Comfortably positioned for on-wrist use, the flashlight can be easily activated with a double-press of one of the case buttons. While flashlights might not seem essential in a smartwatch, Garmin has integrated this feature seamlessly, enhancing its utility.

One of the significant upgrades in this model is the advanced heart rate and blood oxygen level monitoring system, providing users with comprehensive health insights.

Garmin Lily 2 Classic Watch

Shifting our focus to an everyday ladies' watch, the Garmin Lily 2 Classic offers a wide variety of health and activity tracking features. It features a compact metal case with a refined and elegant overall aesthetic. Rather than a standard screen, the Garmin Lily 2 showcases patterned crystals with an illuminated LCD display that shines through from below. The design strikes a balance between sporty and traditional, with lugs reminiscent of vintage dress watches.

This selection includes Garmin Pay, allowing users to make payments directly from their device. The Lily 2 can be fitted with two-piece straps made of either nylon or Italian leather, catering to different style preferences.

In terms of functionality, this series offers the usual suite of health, sleep, and fitness tracking features, along with smartphone connectivity and GPS tracking. The battery life is fairly respectable at five days. While it doesn't support making calls or responding to text messages, it can still display incoming texts.

Although it may lack some advanced features found in larger models, the Garmin Lily 2 Classic excels in providing essential functions in a stylish, compact package designed with women in mind.
