Taking its name from the original and much-loved Seiko ‘Alpinist’ – launched in 1959 for Japanese ‘Yama-otoko’ mountain men, reliable in treacherous terrain – this watch further evolves the Alpinist specifications and overall design – with a legibility focus.
The Black dial features a subtle gentle vertical striped pattern and is complemented by ‘cathedral style’ gold-coloured hour and minute hands.
Paired with a Stainless steel Three-fold clasp Bracelet.
The classic Alpinist logo sits underneath the Seiko logo, which was also on the first Laurel Alpinist from the 1950s.
The caseback of these watches has the "Mountain Device" emblem on it, which is a characteristic of the antique original that shows the watch is meant for outdoor use. Through the exhibition case back the in-house 6R35 calibre can be viewed, accurate to -15/+25 seconds per day, with a power reserve of 70 hours.
Ever practical, the watch features a compass functionality, whilst its super-hard coating gives it shine and strong scratch resistance.
